Pups Takeout Kitchen

Dogs deserve food made with the same love and intention we give the rest of our family.

A local kitchen for the dogs who make our houses feel like home.

Our Philosophy

We believe nutrition and enjoyment are not opposites. Just because food is nourishing doesn’t mean it has to be boring.

As humans, we don’t eat the same thing every day without joy or intention. We look forward to meals. We enjoy variety. Sometimes, we live to eat.

We believe dogs deserve that same experience — food that brings interest, texture, taste, and variety into their lives, while still respecting what their bodies need.

What We Do

Pups Takeout Kitchen creates thoughtfully prepared food additions and special meals designed to be added to your dog’s existing diet.

Our food is not meant to replace complete meals. It’s meant to complement them — adding variety, texture, and enjoyment to a routine that can otherwise feel repetitive.

From everyday additions to celebratory meals for special moments, everything we make is guided by one simple idea: dogs should enjoy their food as much as we enjoy ours.

How We Think About Portions

Every dog is different — not just in size, but in lifestyle. A relaxed couch companion doesn’t need the same energy as an always-on-the-go adventurer.

When we plan food additions, we start with a few simple inputs: breed size, current weight, age, activity level, and body condition.

From there, we estimate a safe baseline and thoughtfully balance ingredients so variety never turns into excess.

A Peek Into Our Process

This is a simplified, high-level view of how we think. Behind the scenes, we work with more detail and ingredient-level balancing — and your choices always matter.

Your Dog, Your Call

We bring the structure, the planning, and the kitchen experience — but you know your dog best.

That’s why everything we do is intentionally flexible. You can customize ingredients, adjust preferences, and adjust based on what works best for your pup.

Our role isn’t to dictate what your dog must eat. It’s to remove guesswork, do the hard thinking behind the scenes, and give you a thoughtful starting point that actually makes sense.

Food should feel empowering — not stressful.

Ingredients & Preparation

Our ingredient list — including proteins, vegetables, herbs, and add-ins — uses ingredients generally recognized as safe for dogs.

Orders are preference-based and designed for variety, enjoyment, and compatibility with your dog’s existing diet. Our services are not medical in nature.

Real Ingredients

Recognizable foods you’d expect in a kitchen.

Intentional Portions

Estimated using breed size, weight, and lifestyle — so variety never turns into excess.

Made to Enjoy

Texture, taste, and experience matter.

Our food is created with two experiences in mind:

Daily Food (Additions) — designed to bring variety and enjoyment into everyday meals.

Special Occasion Meals — experience-driven creations meant for celebrations and moments of joy.

If your dog has medical conditions or is on prescription diets or medications, please consider your dog's specific needs before ordering. Our toppers are designed to complement your dog's regular diet — not replace it.

Where This Started

Before Pups was a kitchen, it was two dogs — Moose and Magnus — and two families who couldn’t stand the idea of feeding them food we wouldn’t recognize ourselves.

Every dog deserves that, not just the ones who already found their people. So a portion of every bowl goes to feeding dogs still waiting at Michigan shelters. Same food, same care — we just cook a little extra.
